Jumonkan/Virgils Judo Club (十門校) we are a small Charted USJA Judo club with over 60 years of Judo experience. We offer Kodokan Judo, Hakuho Ryu Aikibudo, Ono ha Itto ryu Kenjutsu and Senso Ryu Jujutsu.
The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at The Jumonkan/Virgils Judo club:
We teach an American form of Self-defense based on Japanese Jujutsu called Senso Ryu Jujutsu. Senso Ryu is taught with attention to tradition but with a modern approach. What this means is we use traditional waza but apply them in a modern and more self defense focused fashion.
We also teach Hakuho Ryu Aikibudo as a school Hakuho Ryu is relatively new but the techniques taught are those from Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. Daito Ryu is a Kobudo or old martial way. Daito Ryu is the forerunner of Aikido, Hakko Ryu, Shorinji Kempo and influenced the Judo Goshinjutsu techniques taught in Kodokan Judo. Along with Hakuho ryu or as part of Hakuho ryu AIkibudo students learn Ono-ha Itto Ryu Kenjutsu Sokakuden a Kenjutsu system naitive to Hakuho ryu and Daito Ryu. Also the Takeda family Honbojutsu system is taught but only to a few students. This is a short stick system Sokaku Takeda Soke developed and his son Tokimune Takeda systemized into a sub waepons set in the Daito Ryu school.

T-Th 6-7 pm Kata 7-9 pm (Kodokan Judo)
