West Linn Ki Aikido is a satellite dojo of the Oregon Ki Society, a non-profit group teaching Ki Principles and Master Koichi Tohei Sensei's style of Aikido known as Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido (Aikido with Mind & Body Coordinated).
In addition to teaching Aikido, the Oregon Ki Society offers students the chance to study other forms of training such as Ki Health Exercises, Ki Meditation, Ki Breathing, Kiatsu and Misogi. This comprehensive training provides students with a holistic approach to life that extends beyond the self defense techniques taught in the martial art of Aikido. It expands the training into something which can be incorporated into our daily lives for improved health and happiness.
West Linn Ki Aikido is led by Paul Ward Sensei, a Shodan of the Oregon Ki Society. As 1st Dan he holds a black belt in Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido and a Jokyu Ki rank. He is a direct student of Bob Hart Sensei (7th degree dan), Louis Sloss Sensei (7th degree dan) and Calvin Tabata Sensei (8th degree dan) of the Oregon Ki Society. He began & continues his training at the Northwest Ki Federation headquarters in Tigard, Oregon. In addition to his training with the Oregon Ki Society, Paul Ward Sensei is a past student of both world renowned self defense instructor Rory Miller and top national firearms instructor Grant Cunningham.
