Better than lifting weights. Got bored with lifting. Kick boxing was fun but did not teach me anything. This place is actually teaching me how to fight.

My daughter wanted to do this and convinced me to join. Best workout I've ever had. I no longer worry about her defending herself. I don't know what's not to like.

A different kind of work out!

I drive past this place all the time going to the wine library. So I thought I would check it out. The first class was just ending and it was all kids. They must have had a good workout because they were all tired. I got to watch the adult class and the instructor let me participate a little. That was five weeks ago. What I've learned since then I did not think was possible for me. I have always been in good shape, but this place kicked my. ... If you'r looking for a different kind of work out, try this place.

Not the same as it use to be

I recently called the hwang karate studio to reenroll my special needs child but was told Master delsordo was no longer at that location. To my surprise Pam is no longer there either, and she was amazing and helpful. I understand they don’t accept children with special needs, and that’s sad because I remember Master delsordo saying everyone was welcome regardless of their needs. I cannot speak for the current instruction at hwang but my feelings are if you don’t accept people for who they are then you aren’t for me. . So I went on a search and found he is in Scotch Plains at Del Martial arts. Master delsordo was an amazing, compassionate and well rounded instructor with more than 20 years of special needs experience alone. He managed to help my child listen, focus and follow direction in a very short period of time. My son had behaviors that were difficult to handle but Master Delsordo had the expertise to channel the issues and allow my child to be more socially accepted. I am grateful for meeting Master Delsordo… For those of you that are looking for results, call him because there is none better.

Went downhill real fast

like the review below said, there was a change of ownership in the summer. master del was amazing but he left. Now the chief instructor is master orella. -by the way, all reviews below mine and the one below me are FAKE and written by him!!!

Master orella and his son (another instructor) are the most nasty and condescending people I have ever had the disfortune of meeting. They boast about being the best but to be honest, they aren't and the instruction is just average.

Besides instruction going downhill, so has the front desk. There used to be a girl who worked there with master del who knew everything about everyone and never messed up billing. Now the masters wife And him are doing the billing and I've already had issues.

These people are not good business people. Needless to say after my and my sons contract is up, we will not be renewing!!

Early this summer a change of ownership occurred. This caused the quality of instruction to decline rapidly. I trained here for years but I no longer do because of this.

Ok, so I am not a person that does reviews. My Daughter has been training there for over a year now. Our nanny has always said nice things about Moo Duk Kwan and Hwang. Over the summer I finally spent some time at the school watching classes and observing how they conduct them selves. Never once did they have something bad to say about any student or other school. Always professional! When my Daughter started I did not think she would be able to do this as she was not too coordinated, I was wrong. She learned how to move with grace and speed. With that said, I joined and start with some private lessons next week after school starts.

Started training here 3 months ago. I was afraid at first, but after a week or so I was able to keep up with the class. The instructors are great people, they take time to help students achieve, my skill are improving quickly and will be testing for my next rank soon. This is the school you want to go to. I looked at a couple others, but they where not professional at all!

My son and I started training here 10 years ago. This place helped turn him into a an amazing athlete and honor roll student. As a parent I was concerned about who he would spend time with and what kind of man he would turn into. Moo Duk Kwan gave him the foundation I wanted for him and he has made me proud!

For me, the training has been amazing. The instructors made it easy and have helped so much. Training with my son gave us a unbreakable bond.

Turning 45 and now in better shape then when I was twenty. I owe it all to Moo Duk Kwan!

My son has special needs and is currently taking lessons here. The instructors and staff are wonderful with handling children with special needs. My son is improving with his balance and self confidence every class he attends.
