JMAANY is run by Sensei Ismael Aguilar a certified instructor in Karate. He teaches not only the technical aspects of karate but its history, culture and language. The school doesn't focus on the sport-karate but "old style" karate with a focus on real self-defense and practical techniques.

Sensei Aguilar teaches his style of karate called Motobu-Ha Shito Ryu with a focus on its Okinawan karate roots and incorporates a community service mentality when doing so. Basically karate should be more then just fighting but helping people develop a positive attitude and good behavior toward their fellow man is Sensei Aguilar's over all philosophy.

JMAANY is a Non-profit established to help young and old regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. There are basic and advance classes three times a week at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunset Park Brooklyn, New York.
