I have been learning Kung fu for almost 2 years. My health and confidence has steadily improved under Sifu Chris Whitsett's teaching. It's a lot of fun and a lot of hard work. Would not miss it for the world!

Still Kickin'!

My family still trains at Green Tiger. All 4 of us still attend weekly classes and have moved up in the "ranks". I have seen improvements in all of us: physical, mental, and emotional.

In addition to class time, Sifu Chris Whitsett offers many outside opportunities: bringing in instructors for seminars, and recommending seminars and tournaments to attend. Additionally, one of our black belts has moved up to teach, so we now have Sifu Jonathan as well, to give us another perspective and assist Sifu Chris.

This is the first and only martial arts class I have attended, but have attended exercise classes. I enjoy the pace, the learning, the style of movement, and the general atmosphere of respect and encouragement of Green Tiger Kung Fu.

Caring family

Our family (dad, mom, 10 y/o boy, 7 y/o girl) practice together at the Green Tiger school. SiFu Chris Whitsett gives individual attention to each member of the class family. He is very positive, and encourages us to "listen to our body" to avoid injury, and allows individual adaptations to make the movements more natural. Respect is expected and given, but not strictly enforced. This creates a fun, non-threatening learning atmosphere which I thoroughly enjoy, as does the rest of my family.

I also appreciate the variety of movements within class. We do stretches, strength training, stances, forms, Kung Fu, Tai Chi; often all within one hour long class. SiFu also emphasizes self defense, purpose of movement, and balance.

A great place to learn Kung Fu

Green Tiger Kung Fu School is a great place to learn Kung Fu. The emphasis on self-defense and "doing what works best for you" instead of being stuck trying (and sometimes failing) to do something a specific way because "that's just the way we do things" were definitely very big selling points for me.

If you're looking for a warm, family-friendly atmosphere in which to learn Kung Fu, this is it.

My 9 year-old looks forward to Kung Fu each week. He loves showing people what he has learned. The instructor takes time to work with students individually and more experienced students will help other students as they work on the different stances.
