The kids class is so miserable

Dec 14 2023 by John (Parent of a Student with 3 - 6 Months Experience at this school)

Quality of Instruction:
Poor
Other aspects:
Poor
Recommended:
No!

The host of the dojo is a high-dan master in Japan, but he is not good at teaching children.

He thinks that just two throwing techniques (Koshiguruma & Ipponseoi) are enough for the child, and the practice is the same and boring every time.

Their randori sparring doesn't look like judo. It's very ugly, like a child's fight, and lacks the beauty of judo. There are no strong players in this dojo.

It may be a good fit if your child has natural superpowers, but if not, don't go.
