This type of martial art is great for your self defense like others but the difference is the the quality of the instruction and how efficient the techniques can be. The Dojo is very clean and is a comfortable place to train. Would recommend taking classes to anybody who is willing to learn from the best this art has to offer.

Daito ryu aiki-jujutsu is really something to see. The techniques are hard. It's no joke. To disable your attacker with multiple devastating joint locks and breaks. There's no comparison.

I was searching for a martial art that at my age (50) I could perform without having to spend hours in the gym or rolling around on the floor. After the first class I was able to defend a number of different attacks and could immobilize an attacker if he grabbed me. Really enjoy the classes and learning a lot of different scenarios of attacks and counter attacks.
I have never had any experience with fighting or self defense before joining the Yonezawa Dojo. After my first day, I was able to do things that I thought I would never be able to do, such as learning how to defend against common attacks and even learning break falls. This dojo is very flexible with attendance as I am a college student who also works. If you are looking for a school with one on one instruction with the help of friendly and accepting peers, this dojo is for you. Not only will you learn to defend yourself against things such as weaponry or surprise attacks, you will also learn and adopt a traditional Japanese lifestyle within the dojo.
