Programs & Class Schedule
Classes are taught in the studio inside the front entrance of the Martinsville Va. YMCA on Starling Avenue.
This is a great summertime activity for children, adults and anyone wanting to learn about traditional Chinese martial arts.
Class times:
Thursday: 7:35 pm-9 pm all ages welcome. This is a great activity for homeshoolers!
Friday:
5:30-6:30 pm Children's kung fu class ages 4-12. We teach a unique approach to kung fu that focuses on wing chun and chinese kenpo with elements of filipino stick fighting. This class teaches children a strong foundation in multiple arts, builds solid self defense skills, discipline and prepares them for the eventual training in Ip Man Wing Chun!
7:00-9:00 pm Adult Wing Chun class, open to individuals and families ages 12 and up!
I am very traditional in my approach to Ip Man Wing Chun. I do not mix any other artform or concept in my wing chun instruction. It is taught the same way my sifu taught me, as his sifu learned from Ip Ching and Ip Chun, and the way their father Ip man taught them. I have dedicated my life to teaching Ip Man Wing Chun to the best of my ability and to preserve and pass on this awesome martial art in it's original form. I do not deviate from Ip Man's curriculum and teaching methods.
Sunday:
2:00-3:00 pm this class is open to children and adults.
Our classes are taught in a family kid friendly/safe environment. I take this very seriously and any from of negative or disrespectful behavior will result in immediate dismissal and banishment from the YMCA!
Visiting Instructors: if you are a fellow martial artist or Instructor, Please let me know when showing up to my class; so that I can take some time to explain what and who we are. My class is not for spectators only participants. I do allow first timers to sit and watch a class, and of course ask questions about the style and myself.
