Since 2007, Wuxia Martial Arts Center formerly known as YMAA (Yang's Martial Arts Association) has been providing instruction in the martial arts in the Amesbury, MA area.
Wuxia Martial Arts Center was founded by Sifu Scott Tarbell for the purpose of preserving traditional Chinese and Flilpino martial arts along with providing a school for practical self defense training. Wuxia Martial Arts Center offers a variety of technical classes, seminars, and private instruction in the following areas:

What is Wuxia?
Wuxia literally means "martial heroes", and is a genre of Chinese fiction with stories about xia dating back more than 2,000 years. Wuxia stories follow the adventures of heroic martial artists in ancient China.
The word "wuxia" is a compound composed of the elements wu (literally "martial", "military", or "armed") and xia (literally "honourable", "chivalrous", or "hero").
A martial artist who follows the code of xia is often referred to as a xiake (literally "follower of xia or the heroic traditions").
A code of chivalry also known as martial morality usually requires wuxia heroes to stand up for what is right, fight for righteousness, and use their martial skills to protect others.
Chinese xia traditions can be compared to martial codes from other cultures such as the Japanese samurai's bushido tradition.
