Wu Academy

Wu Academy is a family Chinese Martial Arts School and Wellness Center specializing in teaching Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and Health Qigong. We have two beautiful schools in Santa Rosa and Sebastopol where we offer year-round professional instruction for all ages and levels.

Wu Academy is very active in the community and around the world. We lead trips to China, teach after-school programs in the public schools, send students to compete in local and international tournaments, and organize workshops and training camps for Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Qigong. In addition, we offer summer camps for kids, and host famous Chinese Martial Arts masters from around the world to give workshops to our students and the public.

World Gold Medalist in Health Qigong

Winner of over 50 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals and trophies in USA regional/national competition circuits

Certified Tai Chi Master

Certified IWUF “International Judge”

Certified Martial Arts Instructor

Instructor of 6 World Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medalists

Certified 4th Duan in Health Qigong

Served as a Judge numerous times to select Team USA

Served as a Coach of the 2012 USA Traditional Wushu Team

Current Board Member of the National Tai Chi Wellness Foundation

Current Vice President of the USA Health Qigong Federation

Former Instructor at Stanford University’s H.I.P. program and Tai Chi research projects to research the scientific health benefits of Tai Chi

Programs & Class Schedule

Little Dragons (ages 4-6) -
Wu Academy’s Little Dragons program is uniquely designed to suit the needs and challenges of this important age group. Students are taught to take a positive attitude towards exercise, and learn that challenges can be fun! Our Little Dragons classes utilize the foundational movements from more advanced martial arts, and transform them into age-appropriate exercises. These prepare children for advanced martial arts or for any athletic programs they may want to pursue in the future.

Kung Fu Kids (ages 7-12)-
Kids love to do kung fu, learning various skills, leaps, punches, and kicks; and staying fit while they have tons of fun. At Wu Academy, we provide a friendly, non-violent atmosphere that supports your children as they grow.

Adult/teens (13+)-
Our adult kung fu classes are suitable for students beginning at age thirteen. Students are taught a strong foundation of martial arts techniques while they develop body conditioning, flexibility and strength. Body mechanics are taught in the form of stances, kicks, strikes, aerial techniques, open-handed forms, and over ten different weapons forms.

Tai Chi (13+) -
Tai Chi is a unique and rather enigmatic art form and philosophy of movement and breathing. Based on simple yet profound principles, tai chi originates from the Chinese martial arts. It has evolved into a true wellness system combining fluid spiral movements, refined breathing techniques, meditation and traditional Chinese medical theory, with martial arts applications.

Qigong (13+) -
Qigong (pronounced ‘chee gung’) is an ancient Chinese health care system that integrates gentle physical movement, breathing techniques, and focused intention. It is a dramatically effective system for adults of all ages to increase their daily vitality, reduce stress, improve stamina, recover and maintain balance, and even prevent illness.
