Winter Haven Budokai started in 2005 , under Sensei Juan G. Queris as he opened Winter Haven Martial Arts Dojo. Over the last several years he has relocated to his current permanent address in High Pointe Center in 2011.
Sensei is dedicated to Karate "Do" ( self defense and combative art as a way of life ) and teaches Matsubayashi Ryu Karate...a Highly efficient system developed by Nagamine Sensei years before.
From the Kids after school program to the regular classes, Sensei shares his passion. He has approximately 50 years of literal and practical training and it shows in his fluid movement and precise technique. If you are paying attention he shares alot.
The focus is Discipline, Respect of self and others, and building young people to be confident and strong both physically and mentally.
With help from One of his Senior students the program runs very well and super charges the classes into a more traditionally minded program.
