I Highly recomend training at West Winds Martial Arts Academy and Joining the IKJF no mater what your back ground is Training with Hanshi Has been by far the best experiance I have ever had. Though he trains out of his home right now He still is a very professinol and humble. I have been taking myself and my kids to him for years and now that he has moved up to mariposa ca my family and I are still going to drive twice a week from sacramento just to study with Our Master.
He is that type of instructor. The kinda no matter were he is at we will find time and a way to study under him. He is part of our family and a good friend.
Hanshi Boren has help out our son when no other karate Instructor could. At the time our son was 6 years old and had, ADHD and we could not get him to do anything. When we first met Hanshi at a GSKA Tournament two years ago, he was judging our sons match. After the Match My husband spoke with Hanshi asking how he got Tyler to calm down and act so well. and what came from Hanshi I will never forget he said "Its simple I to have ADHD so little Tyler and I have something in common and I simply told him to focus and he did" from that point on we enrolled our son in to Hanshi Private DOJO and since then Tyler has had very few episodes of acting out and he now focuses on everything he does
Thank You Hanshi you are the Best
