Water Oak Aikikai is a jewel hidden in the woods of North Carolina. The dojo proper is a single structure built and maintained on the property of the instructor, William McKlusie. And William, and his wife Brenda both teach classes there. Together, they have a great depth of knowledge, and are extremely accomplished - as practitioners and instructors.
Water Oak is my home away from home

My daughter and I have been training at Water Oak for a decade. .. I know it's a cliche to say that the school community feels like a family, but in this case it's absolutely true. And the teaching is top notch!
I've studied at Water Oak for three years now. The instructors are all thoughtful, dedicated teachers. Safety is at the forefront. You can push your personal limits while managing risk. There is no push to move faster than you're comfortable. You can be a skilled athlete or a complete newbie when you start, and sensei will help you advance at a pace that's right for you. We have a lot of fun, and learn something at every session.
