About instructor:
Sensei Tim Lampp started training in the martial arts at the age of thirteen. The first style studied was Hae San maritial arts. After training a year and a half the school closed. Mr. Lampp trained another year and a half on his own and heard of another instructor
that was said to be the toughest in town. KT Blue than became his next instructor for the next fifteen and a half years. Mr. Blue taught Shotokan karate, Goshinbudo Jiu Jitsu, and Koga Ryu weapons. At this time Mr. Lampp was sixteen years old. Sensei Blue had been a student
of Soke Richard P. Baillargeon who was the founder of the NKJU as known as the National Karate Jiu Jitsu Union. Sensei Blue trained with Soke Baillargeon from 1974 through his death in 1989. After Mr. Lampp started his training with sensei Blue, our dojo competed in the IKKU tournament each year
for three years and won the Shiaii trophy every year. We were then invited to join the IKKU International Karate Kobudo Union, under the Leadership of Hanshi Joseph R. Ruiz. Hanshi Ruiz was during this time a (8th dan) in Motobu-ha-shito-ryu karate, 8th dan Kuniba-ha-Shito-ryu, 7th dan in Koga Ryu Kobudo,
6th dan in Katsu Ryu Kempo, 4th dan in Zenshotokai karate, 2nd dan in Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu, Hanshi Ruiz also holds a black belt rank in Hakko-ryu jiu jitsu. Mr. Lampp was excited to train with Soke Ruiz and other Renshi members of the IKKU. Mr. Lampp was still training in Shotokan karate and Goshinbudo Jiu Jitsu when he started
training in the IKKU in the arts of Shito-ryu Karate, Katsu Ryu Kempo, the different weapons and kata taught by Hanshi Ruiz, as well as the other arts that were taught. Soke Ruiz later founded his own system of Shito-ryu that included the Katsu Ryu Kempo and is presently 10th dan of that art. Mr. Lampp received his first
degree black belt in 1997 from Soke Ruiz and Sensei Blue in Kotosu-ha-shito-ryu karate.
