This is a fantastic academy to bring your kids to train. The Sensai is amazing. He takes his time with the kids, motivates, encourages and works with their individual needs. He teaches them about respect, discipline, responsibility, safety, anti-bully skills and much more while being both firm and fun in his techniques. This is a well rounded academy that we have come to know as another home. Stop searching now and give them a call, you won't regret it!!!

Any time the word "Karate" is used to a non-practitioner, the image of a pseudo-tough guy in a linen karate Gi comes to mind. The next image is: "This stuff isn't practical. . . you will get your butt kicked!" followed by the "karate guy" being bested. While this stereotype may be true, Wilcox Karate is Real Karate for real people!

The goals of Karate are to build a better person: both physically and mentally. All the mental and physical training is well and good, but if the karate doesn't work for real self defense situations, then it's a waste of time. I can tell you that Mr Wilcox teaches no-nonsense karate for real world situations and equips his students with the knowledge of common sense before self defense and what to do when you need it (Karate). The concepts are sound and effective, The wisdom of when to defend is solid and there is just enough Karate "tradition" in the school to feel the connection with the roots of karate. I am an adult student and have enrolled my daughters in class as well. The Wilcox es are patient and kind with children and it's a delight to see kids engaged in a practical activity. The prices are reasonable and the instruction is second to none. I recommend everyone and anyone to come!

Great techniques, reasonably priced, my 5 year old is having a great time while being challenged as well!
