Wow, world class training in southern illinois!

I dabbled in some traditional martial arts for a couple years as a kid and had a bit more extensive training in the army. During college I trained in brazilian jiu-jitsu and boxing and thought I was a good fighter (hah!). After that I spent a few years trying to find a good MMA place to train. I've tried out a handful of places but wasn't impressed or was turned off with their "tough guy" attitudes.

I found Vince and e-mailed him and he called me back and we discussed training. He invited me to a class and I came the next Saturday and checked it out. Wow, this guy is the real deal. He is very humble and nice, but he knows the whole game. He emphasizes training in all ranges of fighting, from kicking, punching, clinching, and groundfighting. Training with him is extremely hands on, which is the only way to really get good at something. My mind was blown in no time at all. After that I took about 20 hours of private lessons with him and took a small group class for about 6 months before I had to move. There's no doubt that I learned more from Vince in one week of training than in the rest of my life combined. Training with him it's apparent that he's absorbed the best of many martial arts and has a genuine passion for passing them on to his students. We did it all; every strike, throw, submission, etc, and we tested it all live in real sparring during every session. I quickly learned that I didn't really know anything about real fighting but I can honestly say that after several hours of experiencing Vince's very realistic training methods my abilities rapidly increased. I can't recommend training with him highly enough!
