We feel fortunate to have found Victory Martial Arts. Sensei Mark and Sensei Karra use Karate as a vehicle to teach the 10 Rules of Life: Effort, Etiquette, Character, Sincerity, Self-Control, Respect, Humility, Confidence, Discipline, and Integrity. Our daughter has benefited from these lessons and has enjoyed making friends at the dojo.

Watching my daughter take Karate at Victory Martial Arts inspired me to take it myself. Not only is it a great sport for fitness but it also trains the mind as well. Sensei Mark and Sensei Karra are great instructors and teach the kids not only skills but values as well. It has helped my daughter stay focused, learn respect and so many other things that reinforce what I am teaching her as a parent. They are very old school and traditional yet work great with the kids of all ages. As an adult taking the classes, I have become much more self confident and less self conscious and feel very empowered. I would recommend them to any one of any age who is interested in starting martial arts. They are great!

I am an old and very passionate student, within the Okinawan traditional martial arts systems. I began at a very early age, and have studied under various Sensei as well as nationally recognized instructors. I hold two black belts and am now working on my third through this school.
Upon coming to Victory Martial Arts, I soon realized how much more could be learned through Sensei Colgan. His deliberate teaching approach has already developed other national and world champions within traditional karate. Although that is not, nor has it ever been a goal of mine, I have improved every technique studied so far. I am faster, in better shape, and fearless.
The breakdown of each skill, there specific characteristics, and effectiveness, allow students to visualize and make each technique a part of natural movement. A majority of schools I have spent any time at, have never given this in depth education to their students. This is what the old schools in Okinawa did with each student, and was the only way to truly pass down the “Original Styles” to new generations.
I love training at Victory Martial Arts! I enjoy both Sensei Mark & Karra Colgan as well as the effort they put into making me a better practitioner of these arts I love so much.
“Keep up the great work!”
Sensei Evans

My name is Chris and I am 14 years old. Yes, this review may seem a bit biased because Victory Martial Arts is my family's karate school but I wanted to take a minute to share my experience from the karate training I have had since I was only 3 years old. My martial arts training has given me invaluable experiences of leadership, effort, public speaking and performance, competition and camaraderie that have helped me to become not only a trustworthy and responsible person but a top athlete in several sports as well. My karate training has taken me to competitions in over 5 states including National and World competitions. Because of those experiences I have made friends from all around the country. My competition experience in karate has also given me the tools I need to be successful in the other big passion in my life, freestyle skiing. I know that without the skills I have learned in karate that I would never be able to deal with the pressures of the Freestyle Ski competition world. Also, I know that without the body awareness and conditioning, strength, coordination and flexibility I have gained from the 11 years I have trained in the martial arts, my body would not be able to withstand the stress and physical exertion I put on it when I am training for my skiing. One of the most important things that I know karate has given me is the ability to believe in myself and trust my instincts. I am not afraid to try new things or meet new people and I love being able to teach my skills to others. I know that without karate my life would be very different and I am thankful everyday that I am fortunate enough to have this karate training in my life and to be able to share it with others.
Our experience at Victory Martial Arts has been nothing short of incredible. I have an extensive coaching background and have been very impressed with the whole process of teaching and learning at the dojo. The techniques are taught with an effective combination of detail and patience. It is fun to see our child come home and be eager to demonstrate what he has learned.
