I am able to take my son to jiu jitsu class while I work out. He loves his instructors and can't wait to go each day. It has given him focus while getting him off his video games. The added plus is I can get my workout in without feeling guilty. Valor is a great place.

Like others, I just started training Krav Maga. Instructor Andrew is an excellent instructor. Really brings everything together. Though he teaches the best way to handle a situation is to avoid it, I think if the situation arises that I can use these technique to protect myself.

After my weight loss surgery, my doctor said I needed to get more exercise and suggested I check out this gym. I'm not sure if it was my desire to change my life or something else, but I now have a deep love for working out. The fitness classes are hard but very doable. I have made great gains in my health and self confidence. After 6 months of just doing the fitness class, I just started jiu jitsu to challenge myself even more. My motivation and outlook on life has never been better. If you are thinking about making a change in your life, the time to do it is now. Waiting will only make it harder.

I have been wanting to take Krav Maga for a while now, but haven't had much luck. I just started training a couple months ago with Coach Andrew and I am liking his teaching style a lot. He has training in a lot of different martial arts and knows how to show things so that I get it. Highly recommend taking Krav Maga with him.

I have been going to Valor for over a year now. I was 30 pounds overweight and not motivated to work out. I had a friend tell me I should check out this class. Needless to say I am hooked. Great instructors. They push you but make it fun at the same time. I also love the people I work out with. They have become a 2nd family to me. Love, love, love my gym.

I decided to check out this gym once I found out they were part of Team Zenith under Robert Drysdale. There is a great group of people to train with and all three black belts are great teachers. I am glad they offer Gi, no Gi, and have a Judo black belt to fully round out my grappling game. I love being part of Team Valor and Team Zenith.

Call the number listed. This Is Valor Martial arts. The reviews both good and bad belong to Valor I'm a past member and proudly attend Laselva MMA & Fitness in Derby Ks. Laselva is not affiliated with Valor in any way. Come check it out yourself! Great atmosphere and no fighting to get out of contracts. His students come first.

The owners of this site should remove this dojo or valor should of not created a new site and kept the one that belonged to them.

I have been training BJJ and fighter fitness at this gym for a couple years now. Though this gym has always been great, in the last 6 months it has gotten even better. The instruction has been very high level and focused. Under the direction of the new affiliation with Robert Drysdale, the level on the mats has been steadily improving.

The fitness class is awesome. Between Marcio, Eric, and Conner these guys know how to push you but still keep it fun. Without a doubt the best workout I have ever done.

Very very happy with my choice of gyms!!!

It is now called Valor Martial Arts. Maybe I will check it out on another day but just thought you all should know so you can find the new location too.

No matter if you just want to get in shape, learn Jiu-Jitsu, striking, or a combination of the above, this gym has what you want. There are kids classes also. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

Surprised about the negative reviews. I have been at this gym for over a year and I love it. The people are great and instructors know what they are doing. I had an issue with needing to take time off due to illness and they worked with me on my membership. I plan on training here for a long time.

This place is a disgrace. My brother is a mentally disabled veteran and they are charging him 120. 00 a month for his 3 year contract that he signed. When we tried to get them to cancel saying he was not in his right mind and that the money they were taking was for his medication they didn't care!!…this place has no morals and yet they try to teach martial arts but yet don't uphold any of the morals of its teachings. An establishment that preys on the mentally disabled is an embarrassment. Karma will soon get to that place.

I regret this place

The classes do change times, the instructors are often a no show or off on fights or the gym is closed for trainings, snow days, holidays and any other thing they find important. The staff generally arrive late for class, the fighter fitness classes are always shortened due to late staff and their eagerness to be doing a "more important" class with the actual fighters. The bathrooms are generally pretty nasty and lack toilet paper. If you call the front desk for anything you are generally rewarded with a very negative attitude on the other line, and their prices and terms of agreement are ridiculous for what you get. Unless you plan on being a hardcore professional fighter I wouldn't recommend the place and don't get a contract.

These jokes really believe in themselves. I could get better lessons from a bum off the street. If this place is so great why does everyone who fights loses?? Because they are a JOKE. I signed a 3 year contract like an idiot because it seemed like a great place to go at first because it really worked with my schedule. I got the premium membership because i was doing 3 classes; Then all of a sudden one of the classes gets canceled then they start switching the days of each class to better accommodate the fighters. this is bullshit. they were willing to cancel my membership but only if I continued to pay for a 1 year. I agreed to the addendum I signed and within hours I got a phone call of from the manager that agreed to the addendum telling me that they were unable to honor the agreement. Luckily I stopped all withdraws from my account. All they care about is money. its been almost a year and i still get emails saying that my account is overdue. I'm just anticipating the day we go to court. Gym's like this should get the hell out of Wichita.

I was looking for a place to get my kids in martial arts for self confidence and discipline. I'm glad I found this gym. It has lots of options for kids. BJJ and kickboxing is what my kids ended up doing but wrestling, boxing, and Tae Kwon Do we're also good options. My kids love going to the gym and I also get to exercise in the fighter fitness class while my kids train. The instructors are great and the gym is clean and full I nice people. I couldn't be happier with my choice of Laselva MMA.

Great gym!!!

I have been dabbling in martial arts at a number of different places around the country and in Wichita. I was happy with my previous school in town but there seemed to be something missing. One night, I went to one of the local fights in town and every time one of Laselva's MMA fighters was in the ring, they dominated (their boxers did very well also). They appeared to be very well rounded with striking and ground work while my previous gym thought striking was the only thing that mattered. I had heard some good things about Laselva gym and decided to give it a try. Though I was hesitant to switch schools, I went in for a free week trial. All I can say is wow!!!

My first night I desired to jump in and try everything I could. I started with boxing and I got a great workout. The boxing coach is the real deal. Then I went on to bjj and the level of the students blew away my previous gym. There were about 30 guys (and girls) there with 3 black belts, 2 browns and many purple and blues on the mat. Great class. Then I finished out with kickboxing. There is no doubt why Coach Navarro is a world champion kickboxer.

I went ahead and finished out my free week before I joined, but I was sold from the minute I walked in the door. I love this gym and train every chance I get. I haven't regretted for a second joining this gym. It's a great place to train.

I have been at Laselva for over 3 years now. In that time my wife and two daughters (5 and 6) all train here. It is a family experience. The kids get great instruction and attention. They really care about their students. When I walk in people great me by name and shake my hand. I have done the bjj, fighter fitness (no better way to get in shape and lose weight), boxing and kickboxing. The instructors are world class and thats no kidding. The kickboxing coach is the current ISKA world champion! Honestly you can't find experience like that anywhere else. Not to mention 3 black belts in BJJ and black belts in other disciplines. When you have a gym like this it is innevitable someone will get unhappy. It happens, but please do not let it deture you from what has, for me, become the central intitution for my family training and friends. One week, you will be a believer I promise.

Best School in the area

Don't let the negative (false) reviews turn you away from this gym. It is run and owned by professional people in the community who have no reason or interest in harming their reputation with shady dealings with their members. Come in and give a week for free to see for yourself which reviews to believe.

Laselva MMA easily has the nicest facility in the area. It also has the best instructors. The kickboxing and MMA instructor is the current 160 pound ISKA World Kickboxing Champion. BJJ has 3 black belt instructors including 2 from Brazil. They also offer Tae Kwon Do and Karate black belt instruction and their boxing team is top notch. There is also a fighter fitness class that is offered multiple times per day that is a great workout but is also fun.

The best part of this gym though is the sense of family. It is not unusual for members to finish their workout and stick around for an hour after class talking with friends.

I highly recommend that you try all the gyms in town and see which one is right for you. I can tell you without a doubt though, Laselva MMA is the best gym in town.

They have an amazining facility with over 20,000 sq ft(more than any other gym in Kansas) which included bathrooms for both men and women and shower/changing rooms!

The instructors there were very nice and had proof of their credentials on the wall(black belt certificates) which was something I was surprised no other gyms had that I went to.

The other students there were extremely nice always willing to start up a friendly conversations before class and give help if I ever needed any. I would recomend this gym to anyone who is interested in learning martial arts as a hobby, to fight, or just to get in shape!!!

BEST SCHOOL IN TOWN, HANDS DOWN

I've trained at every school in town and can tell you Laselva MMA is the best.

I received my blue belt in BJJ from another school and came to try my free week. Well, I got destroyed by their blues and was even tapped by one of their seasoned white belts. The school I came from I was one of the best. Now what does that say about other schools.

I have been here over a year and have felt my game jump to a much higher level. We have two black belts (one second degree)that are there every day. We have several STUDENTS that out rank every INSTRUCTOR at other schools. Not to mention our amazing boxing and kickboxing instructors.

Dont let the other schools bs fool you. Whether its their shady dealings in MMA(putting their fighters up against cans from small towns and then giving them irrelevant made up belts) or to putting up fake reviews with terrible grammar. Ironically enough our kickboxing coach SUBMITTED another schools BJJ coach in an mma match. Read into that as you will.

I have never had a problem with the finance part of this school.

Go try out every gym in town and then come sign up with the best.

THIS PLACE IS VERY SHADY WITH YOUR MONEY, THERE ARE WAY BETTER GYMS

Laselva MMA has high level instructors, great range of students to train with, huge facility, and classes morning afternoon and night.

They offer a free week so go in and decide for yourself what gym is the best. Well worth your time if you want to be a well rounded fighter.

This gym offers several different packages and pricing options whether you just want to do one class or several. The instruction is top notch and it is a very team-centric environment to train in. Even in the larger classes, one on one instruction is present and available from higher belts or the instructor himself. Even for those who do not wish to compete, Laselva offers a fantastic way to get in shape and have fun doing it. It is a serious environment with some fun thrown in to provide a great balance. I would recommend this gym to anyone who is dedicated to martial arts or fitness and exercise in general.

Laselva MMA is a top notch facility with he best instructors around.. they have the only BJJ black belt in KS,an undefeated south american kickboxing champion, a fighter fitness instructor with several degrees to back up his class. With dozens of MMA fighters that constantly win, a great family environment, and a 20,000 sq. Ft facility there is nothing better.
