My kids absolutely love it here and so does my husband! I highly recommend this academy!

As a student of martial arts I can tell you that if you want to learn how to fight well in any situation you need to train realistically. This school will meet that need. The Krav Maga and Gracie Jiu Jitsu you learn at this school will prepare you for everything from a street fight to a jiu jitsu tournament or the octagon. Although, if you are just someone looking to get into shape and have a good time or you're not looking to compete, don't be intimidated. Make sure you check this place out before you make any final decisions about where you are going to train.

The staff at Urbana Academy is laid back and approachable. They aren't bullies nor do they walk around with monster egos. They have all the knowledge you need no matter what your personal goals are. They have fought in jiu jitsu tournaments, MMA fights, and kickboxing matches. The instructors have studied multiple combatives systems and are able to help you with your fitness and conditioning as well. It is hard to find this much experience just anywhere.

The academy offers classes for your children. Their approach with the children is great, it's not just some blue belt teaching the kids to earn another stripe on their way to a purple belt. They have a plan and a system of learning through games that I have not seen in my previous experience.

You will be hard pressed to get more bang for your buck. If you don't believe me, then get over there and try the place out for yourself. They'll welcome you right in the door.

I am sorry I have to move out of the area just after the school opened. I have been training with the instructors for the last 5 or 6 months. Royce Gracie started all. The Instructor knows his stuff he learn it straight from the Gracies. Is the real deal! The place is small but the instruction is fenomenal.
