I'm a student with over 20 years attending classes here. Highly skilled instructor, you learn the history as well as the physical part of karate training.

Teaches traditional Uechi-Ryu karate, without all the bells and whistles and high overhead cost of a commercial school. The instructor with over 50 years experience is precise, excellent and highly skilled in the art.

Stern instructor, old equipment. This school does not seem to be very up-to-date on training. It is almost like the school opened in 1969 and hasn't updated anything since its opening.

Basement dojo. The instructor is not really good with children and refuses to work with them. Seems closeminded to adaptations of other trainings and is very militant in teaching style.

I attended this school for awhile. The equipment is rudimentary at best and the instructor seems to always appear to be in a foul disposition. While skilled and credible, you would think in a service based industry, he'd have some sort of positive personality. He says that his art is "hard-style" karate, which evidently gives him grounds to punch, bruise, and unapologetically hurt you. Classes are held in the basement of the guy's house, which is appropriate, because this kind of instructor should remain hidden. I left and would never return.

Traditional school of Karate with outstanding instruction at a very low cost.
I trained here in the past and I would not recommend it to anybody. When there were no other options around the area, I took classes here. However there are several locations that are now available that offer much better training, with an open-minded approach and mixing of self-defense concepts. This school does not offer that.
