Never ever ever ever go to that place because it is horrible it has bad teachers because they have attitude problems and they have favorites of each student they train. The teachers names are Mr. Chris and Mrs. Nancy they have a horrible location and a horrible place they are at. The place ishorrible and dead middle of February and it is really hot and Dave middle of July. I'm telling you people never go to that place. that is all. The classes are very overcrowded and the facility does not offer enough room for the students or seating for the parents. Parking lot is too small and a crumbling mess. Traffic flow in and out of the parking lot is way too close to the door for safety. Their rates are a little lower then other schools in the area, but by the time you pay for all the required extras, it cost a fortune.

I wrote a previous review, signed D.R.S. but I feel so strongly about this I decided that I should include my full name, in case someone out there wants to contact me. I live in Westminster, MD now, and was a student under ( so called ) Master Ennis for 4.5 years. ( 1988 - 1992) After I got tired of all the crap, I quit. So have many others. I have some stories to tell. My email address is dennisshoop@comcast.net
Hope to hear from !! Thank you, Dennis Shoop

We enrolled our son with the expectations that this would be a passing fad. He has now lost interest in all other sports and is fully hooked on Tang Soo do & UTA Karate Shrewsbury. The instructors are top-notch and help their students (all ages) to learn, grow & develop and most importantly: believe in themselves and their abilities. The instructors require the participants to try their best and are not afraid to single a person out if they are not practicing up to potential. This is truly a family atmosphere and UTA Karate Shrewsbury is actively involved in many community related activities.
UTA Karate Shrewsbury has DIRECTLY provided a forum for my son to grow personally, gain confidence in his abilities, learn new skills, better understand respect - giving and receiving, looking out for one another/teamwork, gain a better sense of community involvement and helping of others, set levels for incremental improvements/success and embrace that failures are only minor set backs on which one must rise above to advance.
Master Ennis runs a tight ship and instills the traditional values. Nancy, Chris and Shawn are the heart & soul and really drive the Tang Soo Do movement and philosophies at UTA Karate Shrewsbury!

It's easy to believe the hype. I was a student for 4.5 years. I thought Tang so do was a great thing, until I saw the character flaws of my instructor. And after 1st degree black belt, just forms, forms, forms. BORING !! Remember this, for every instructor that wears a fancy uniform, a hundred people quit - for a reason. From my experience, it's not about character building, it's not about self defense. IT'S ABOUT EGO & MONEY !!!

UTA Karate Shrewsbury is a place for growing, learning and a second family. UTA Karate is owned by Master John Ennis but it doesn't stop there. Master John Ennis asst. instructors are second to none. As they command respect they also give it. The best thing I have ever done in my life so far is to have enrolled my son into UTA Karate Shrewsbury.
Ryu Pa Karate Shrewsbury is an extended family to us. The people there are top quality instructors, that really care about the people. My family and I started there over 15 years ago and have seen all the local karate schools come and go. Most local schools in our area over charge you and you can only come 2 days a week. This school you can almost come every day for one low cost. I highly recommend this school and if you ask anyone who goes there they will too!
