My child has attended UTA Karate Manchester for six years. During these years, I have watched her gain confidence, physical strength, and leadership skills. Master Klinedinst is just the kind of teacher I want for my child: He is totally devoted to sharing his art; in fact, doing so is his life's goal. He relates well to the children, and he strives to create character in them. I have watched children enter UTA whom I thought had little chance of achieving any type of success at karate, only to see them take phenomenal strides in their personal growth and physical coordination. He definitely knows what he is doing! I am also well aware of the pricing structure at this karate school, and it has never been $250 a month for two children. In fact, as the other reviewer said, various pricing structures are available. And they are made extremely clear to parents. Master Klinedinst also offers additional clinics in specific skills (for example, weapons), and he encourages students to take such clinics. However, the decision as to whether a child participates in a clinic lies ultimately with the parents.

My review of UTA Manchester Karate.

Pros: children (including mine) LOVE it and really respond. In addition to being a sport, leadership, character development, and self-confidence are nurtured. Master Klinedinst has a fabulous rapport with the students. Great extra-curricular field trips and opportunities. Business office will cheerfully work with you on custom payment plans, if needed.

Cons: way, way, way too expensive. (Not to say it isn't *worth* spending all that $$$ on UTA, I actually think it *is*, but finding $250+/mo for 2 little ones is hard for many of us). Master Klinedinst seems wonderful, until one questions any policies/procedures. In my case, I was floored by an utterly unfair sales practice (that used my children's emotions as a pawn) and though I was polite I feel that I was verbally bullied (the bullying and the "use" of children's emotions for financial gain are two things directly contradict many of the things Tang Soo Do is trying to teach my children).

I was more than happy there. Had to move out of PA and have not yet found anything comparable. I miss the instruction my daughter received at Manchester UTA Karate.
