Mick is the most incredible karate instructor I have ever had the pleasure to work with! And I have worked with many in the past 50 years! He is very patient, so knowledgeable, and so willing to help. Mick's only concern is the well being of his students, and you will not find a better and more efficient karate instructor than Mick on the planet!

My kids have been in classes for just about one year. My girls love the classes and have grown so much. Not only have they learned karate, they have also developed social-emotional skills that are valuable in all facets of life. I appreciate the dedication of the staff and recommend their business whole-heartedly.

Always read contracts carefully and remember to cancel contracts with 2 Dragons Karate in writing.

I originally posted this complaint in July 2010, however I continue to check back and find similar complaints about this school.

Approximately 3 and one half years ago I enrolled my granddaughter in 2 Dragons Karate Martial Arts Academy which serves Puyallup, Spanaway, and Graham, WA. At the time my granddaughter was very interested in learning karate and we signed a 3 year, paid in full contract. Unfortunately, the granddaughter lost interest after about 18 months. At that time, I had a discussion with the owner and informed him she would not be returning to classes. He said that was unfortunate and I thought that was that. He did not say I needed to put that fact in writing and unfortunately 18 months later the original paid in full contract ran out. The contract then started automatically taking the monthly rate of $139 from my bank account. Unfortunately, I don’t monitor my bank statements as closely as I should and it took several months for me to question the new charges. I had a long discussion with the owner. He offered to let one of us attend classes but would not refund the money. “The contract is the contract. ” I can’t argue with that but I think it is unreasonable to be charged for classes they had been told and knew she would not attend. Live and learn. Always read contracts carefully and remember to cancel contracts with 2 Dragons Karate in writing.

When you are first introduced they are loving and compassionate peopel, but as time goes on you get pushed to the way side. At the end of my child contract which was coming up I informed them that ai will not be renewing my contract. Only thing I got was call this number on the contract paper and rude service because I wasn't going to renew my contract. I was told I would have to pay next month payment even though my contract ended that month, because you have to give 30 days notice before doing so. Then when I went home and looked at the contract it said no such thing and when. I went back to get clarification I was treated as wasting there time. I take a person at their word until they show me other wise and they did just that.

My three sons went to a buddy night lesson and had a blast. They each broke a wood broad with their palms and learned some karate moves. I really appreciated the enthuses on respect and listening. Mr Y and mr B (instructors) were two young men who visibly enjoyed teaching karate. Very clean and fun atmosphere.

Teaches, respect, self-control, focus, and self worth.

I would first like to address the contract issue that is a problem for some people in these reviews, I also signed a three year contract for myself and our son. It was made VERY clear that there was no ESCAPE CLAUSE, and you could chose one year or longer, But if you want out sooner you would be leaving your CONTRACTED MONEY BEHIND. I feel that people no longer know how to follow through with commitments that are made to team sports or most other things in their life, and teach their children that when it is no longer fun, then you just quit and walk away. So if you are a person who makes commitments, with the thought of walking away when the going gets tough, this is not the place for you, but if you are seeking to find help in raising a child that is ADHD, and lacks respect for others, self-control, and focus then I would highly recommend TWO DRAGON KARATE for you and your child. ALL of the staff there is friendly and helpful. Especially Soke (the instructor and owner) who will work with you and your child outside of the time that has been contracted. Soke is dealing with school issues and at home personal issue with our son, he takes a personal interest in his families. He believes in working your hardest to be the best you can be, and will not allow you to settle for less. Thank you TWO DRAGONS KARATE for investing in the communities children.

My son has been attending Two Dragons Karate since last summer (August I believe) We just love the program and the instructors. It is something that belongs to only him. He continues to learn discipline, focus and skills. . . We are extremely blessed that we found this program.

I see I'm not the only one who's been raked over the coals by this piece of shit "man of god". LMAO. Too me he's the devil. One minute your 5yr old kid is trying on a uniform and breaking a balsawood board, the next minute your kid is signed up too a "NO EXCEPTIONS" contract. Really? HE'S 5YRS OLD! And to see that your doing this to military families is a shame. Do you expect them too keep paying you if they get relocated? WTF?! The only thing Mick worships is $MONEY$. I realize to have a thriving business you need to make money, but this is an unethical way to go about doing it. Karma will catch up with you. And it makes me smile. :) Hope all your $MONEY$ (that you squeeze out of our kids) makes you happy.

The classes are good. The Sales Pitch ( and that really is just what it is in my opinion. ) hits the emotional impulse buying part of your brain. As a parent I want to do right by my Son and I really believed in what was being preached. However, the cancellation policy is not clearly stated. If you have a life changing event or if there is any potential of needing to cancel for any legitimate reason ( not a just cause reason ) this may not work for you. Please make sure you force the questions and get a copy of the cancellation policy for the program that you sign up for. In my opinion they are not as helpful as you may think when Life Changes happen.

I had to pay extra but it was worth the high price. I saved years of training by paying double. I recomend dragons karate for those who want fast blackbelt and have lots of money to spend.

I would recommend this school to anyone of all ages. This is the only school I know of that let's you work at your own pace. They are very professional and the staff are easy to talk to. I find that the only people who complain are the ones who expect something fo free. My Kids enjoy going there. I feel it's safe and clean and those are the things I look for besides the great instructors. Keep up the good work.
