Classic Japanese samurai swordsmanship

This class teaches how to fight with a Japanese sword. There is a lot of practice of the correct, most effective ways to make cuts (immagine trying to give someone a papercut with a three foot steel razor blade), kata practice, partner practice, and combat-oriented classes for the more advanced students.
Unlike the highly stylized traditional iaido classes, Toyama Ryu focuses on effective fighting with the Japanese sword.
The class is friendly and fun but extremely formal and very focused. The teacher, Sorensen Sensei, is one of only two in the US authorized to teach this style.
Costs $35 per month.
