Traditional Shotokan Karate is the root discipline of Tokuiten Karate. Because of Okinawan, Japanese, Chinese and other international contributors, especially in the United States, karate is more than just a Japanese art. Tokuiten Karate is affiliated with The United Self-Defense Federation (USDF) and a member school of USA Karate which is regulated by the US Olympic Team.
The goal of this school is to provide students with functional self-defense skills and mindsets. Tokuiten Karate school achieves this by incorporating the striking strategies from Shotokan karate and learned from our predecessors. Additionally, Judo and Sumo techniques including standing grappling and take-downs are considered standard interpretations of basic techniques and kata.
