Great Place to Train

Threshold Martial Arts has a solid adult Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai kickboxing program. The instructors are more than willing to support your growth and personal development goals. Students here train hard, but ego's are left off of the mats. The kids classes are also top notch. They're structured in a way that encourages learning, teaches discipline and rewards hard work. Whether you have trained before or are new to the martial arts, I would recommend coming in and trying out a class - You won't be disappointed!!

Just What I Was Looking For

I've been taking martial arts for twenty years, taught Tae Kwon Do, and continue to train in Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I know a great school when I see one and I know great instructors when I'm with them. Since I've been training at Threshold, my martial arts skills have grown exponentially. Threshold Martial Arts is a complete package for students of all levels, genders, and backgrounds. It's not only the training that brings me back, it's the people. The instructors want to pass on their knowledge and want us to share it with each other. Don't pass up a chance to be a part of this school!

BEST MARTIAL ARTS SCHOOL

Threshold Martial Arts is without a doubt the best school! My 2 kids are training BJJ and I am doing Kickboxing.

Every week my kids cannot contain their excitement to go to the classes and learn new skills. They love the place, the instructors, the techniques and the enthusiasm. Even my very artsy daughter gave up her ballet classes for Jiu-Jitsu at Threshold Martial Arts.

Coach Chris has a ton of patience and is wonderful with the kids. Professor Bill is so knowable, surprisingly sweet (looks so tough) and has the no-nonsense attitude that I love!

It is a tough, but fun and welcoming environment that provides solid martial arts education for the little ones and for the adults.

I personally adore this place and defiantly recommend it to anyone who feels the need to get good and effective workout on, learn a solid martial arts techniques, or simply release the inner beast.

I've been training at Threshold Martial Arts for around 3 years now and there's a reason:

I should probably left a review a long time ago. Not only are the trainers top notch, but they're great people too. It's a great environment whether you are just beginning or are an advanced fighter. Everyone who works there is kind, funny, intelligent, and more. In fact, from the first day you start training there you will already begin feeling like you are part of a family, not a gym. Whether you want to get into sick shape, learn how to defend yourself, or become a professional fighter Threshold Martial Arts is a fantastic option that CAN help you meet that goal, but it won't do it for you. You get what you put in, they just help you as best anyone can. There is absolutely no reason to give them anything less than five stars.

Threshold Martial Arts are good people doing the best they can every day while treating their customers like family. They are knowledgeable, seasoned, skilled and they have a track record of both getting people in shape and creating great fighters. There's nothing more you can ask for.

I'd tried a couple other local Martial Arts gyms in the area. Some lacked professionalism, some quality instruction. I felt like I was wasted my time. A friend recommended I try Threshold. After just a couple classes I saw that they had a clearly defined path and really good Instructors. There hours worked well for me so I'm able to train more. I'm getting in shape and learning real skills. Very happily and easy to recommend.

AWESOME!!!

Where do I begin? As an overweight man in his early 30s, I realized that if I didn't start taking care of my body now, I'd be setting the stage for future health problems. I can't stand gyms (too repetitive), and I have little patience for martial arts that serve no real life purpose. If I'm going to be stuck in a life or death situation, high-kicking attackers all around me isn't going to work.

I whittled down which martial arts would actually interest me, and it came down to Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. Lucky for me, Threshold had BOTH, and is right by my train stop and home. How much more convenient can you get?!?

The Muay Thai classes are great. There's no "line up side by side and mimic my moves" here! The moves or combos are demonstrated multiple times, then your job is to practice them one for one with a partner. You learn to read real life opponents, not am imaginary figure taking all of your shots. It is fast paced and intense, but the methodology is such that even a rookie won't feel overwhelmed. Class is competitive, but at the same time the more advanced students do their best to get all new members to their level. Our instructors, Bill Shimuk and Ed Serra, have years of experience, and have both the patience and passion to impart their skills to us.

Seriously, I haven't felt this great in over a decade. Thanks!

Real Jiu-Jitsu.

Threshold is a REAL Jiu-Jitsu Academy. They have trained instructors that actually compete in high level tournaments. Additionally, they demonstrate and explain techniques for beginners,(like me), with patience. I feel comfortable and safe training with these guys.

To many other schools that I tried where "part time" Jiu-Jitsu schools. I found that I was wasting time learning from teachers who where still beginners themselves.

Threshold's a great place to train.

My Favorite Place to Train!

Superb instruction and really cool people to work out with. Most Martial Arts schools don't seem to care about the people they train. I don't know if its there egos or their quest for money, but they loose site of what's of value. Threshold is the only place that I have trained that gets it! They have a culture of support that causes people to get really good, really fast. They always bring new people in and instantly the existing students/instructors pour attention on them the same way it was done for them. Its a unique science lab of BJJ & Kick-Boxing bad-aXX's! Oh, and being an affiliate of Team Alliance, the 5 time World BJJ Champions doesn't hurt either...Love training there!
