My family has taken classes with Texas Martial Center since it has opened. This includes myself and all 5 of my children at one time or another. Four of my children attend regularly. There are classes for all ages and multiple disciplines and is the only Martial Arts Center that is affordable for a family. If you are looking for a comfortable place to get fit, learn self defense techniques, learn discipline and do it in a fun, low-stress environment, this is it!!

I have been going to TMAC for about 3 years now and I have found it to be a very positive experience for not only myself but my entire family. The school as a veriaty of marital arts taught by knowledgeable instructiors. We welcome new people and experienced students alike. We have even let people keep their current belts if they have belted in other schools (talk to instuctors on that one). The school teaches practical self-defence techniques, but does not neglect the art aspect that is so important to any Martial Arts program. I know that picking a dojo is a personal preference decision, but I would envite any one to come and spend some time with us. If you dont like it at the Texas Martial Arts Center, then we understand. . . But I bet that you will want to stay.

There are several instructors at this school, with multiple styles available, something to suit every preference and level of activity. The instructors are very experienced, good people with high levels of personal skill and good ability to teach. I have extensive experience with this particular dojo, and can't think of anywhere better for someone in Abilene to go to join one. You won't find a better martial arts family.

This place is ran by a bunch of amateurs (most classes are conducted by someone ranking lower than a high-level brown or black belt) that try to pass themselves off as highly experienced and trained instructors (particularly when it comes to TKD).

If you want a well-rounded and solid martial arts training experience do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I've been at TMAC for almost 3 years now. I was new to martial arts and trust me when I say I looked everywhere. I found that TMAC had the best to offer at the best prices. Unlike other local places that charge you to death with little fees here and there, TMAC is not that kind of place. It is focused on teaching self defense and not about profit. The instructors all make sure to make this a fun, family environment rather than the normal military style training in other places. I would recommend this place to anyone in the local Abilene area. I promise, you will not be disappointed one bit!!
