Tenshin-Kai Taichi & Karate
Tenshin-Kai is a unique blend of traditional Japanese Karate and Taichi. One’s inner power, or “Chi” is used in addition to physical strength. As a person gets older, the body starts to lose its strength and flexibility. The use of Chi enables a person to become stronger even as they age.
Grandmaster Hirakawa has an extensive knowledge of the martial arts, including dan rankings in Karate, Aikido, Judo, Iaido and weaponry. His studies in the martial arts span more than 30 years and include over 25 years of teaching in the United States. After receiving certification as a Taichi master, Grand Master Hirakawa founded Tenshin-kai in 1994.
At Tenshin-Kai Taichi and Karate, people of all ages from all over the world gather to improve themselves, to learn and grow through the arts of taichi and karate, under the instruction of Grand Master Tenzan Hirakawa.

TAICHI
Taichi Ch’uan, sometimes called meditation in motion, sometimes called Chinese Yoga, originated in China hundreds of years ago. It has been taught throughout the world as exercise, meditation and a martial art.
The fluid movement and emphasis on breathing create an environment in the body in which the Chi, or energy, is circulated, leaving the practitioner energized, rather than exhausted at the end of practice.
