I started training here over two years ago with NO experience at all but a deep and sincere desire to learn this beautiful and traditional Japanese martial art from a skilled instructor. Wehrhahn Shihan's methods and ability to teach are instantly apparent and you will learn quickly and safely. Iaido is a fantastic martial art to train in for the young and old. What is very special about training here is if your knees are not up to the task of kneeling that is not a problem as we do all the traditional kata standing. If you are up to it you will be taught how to do them the traditional way as well. I don't know if other schools do this but Shihan does and its greatly appreciated and in my opinion very innovative and smart. We all get older and I can't imagine not being able to train any longer. For many many years the only way to train in iaido in Southern NYS was to go into NYC. Now we are lucky enough to have a place close to home with a great teacher. If you ever wanted to train with the Japanese sword don't wait, take advantage of it now. This is not a paid review, I love it here and I cannot recommend it enough. I wanted to train in the sword since 1984, look how long it has taken me!
I am currently studying Muso Shinden Ryu Under the instruction of Shihan Roger Wehrhann. The curriculum is well organized and very detailed. Been looking for a Traditional Japanese Swordsmanship Ryu close to my home and I'm more than thrilled to find it.
