Always worth a try.
I tried to check out this gym, but every time I tried they were closed despite classes being scheduled at that time. Finally I managed to find them open and ask them some questions. Being a bjj student the first thing I asked was, what is progressive jujitsu? Apparently its a self defense system based loosely on aikido principles using the jujitsu name to jump on the tail of bjj. Needless to say I found this mildly insulting to the sport I loved, but I was willing to give their classes a try until they told me there was no free class or trial period. Every gym I've ever been to, mma karate, bjj, ect always offers a free class unless they have nothing to show. Additionally the classes were more expensive than the other schools in town. So I watched a class (at least they let me do that) and wasn't impressed with what I saw. Later a friend went to roll with them and said he beat the whole class without a challenge, so I'm glad I didn't waste my money.
