Tenshinsho Jigen Ryu Seibukan

The Frederick Keishokai studies the koryu sword art of Tenshinsho Jigen Ryu Hyohou, which was founded in the 1500s in Kagoshima, Japan. The art focuses on the art of the Japanese Sword, including Iaido (drawing, cutting, and resheathing) and Kenjutsu (partnered practice). Our home dojo is in Kasukabe, Japan, and our instructors come several times a year. Members also travel to Japan for training and demonstrations.

Programs & Class Schedule

The training group meets at the Lincoln Elementary Recreation Center on Monday evenings from 7 to 9 PM.
There is no minimum (or maximum) age, except that students should be able to hold and swing a sword for extended periods of time, and be mature enough to train respectfully.
