Shoreline Martial Arts is a traditional school that teaches the Korean Martial Art of Soo Bahk Do. Students practice powerful blocks, kicks, and punches for self-defense purposes. Soo Bahk Do also utilizes different elements of joint locks, throws, sweeps, and take downs to achieve self-protection. More than that, you’ll develop the mental aspects of martial arts too - focus, strength and determination - in order to improve every aspect of your life. Our students have seen tremendous IMPROVEMENTS in their personal, academic and professional lives because of their training with us.
Master Ahlers entered the Moo Duk Kwan in Madison, CT / 1985. He has competed locally and nationally since he was a child, winning several competitions in traditional forms and sparring. Master Ahlers has been teaching for over 12 years, including 6 years in Springfield, NJ, the headquarters of the Moo Duk Kwan Federation. He trains regularly under the Grandmaster H.C. Hwang and visits/trains in Seoul, Korea HQ. In addition to his training in Soo Bahk Do, Rich has experience in various martial arts including Kyokushin, and the former Tang Soo Do.
Master Ahlers believes in creating a safe, professional and educational learning environment for students of all ages. In addition, classes provide a well-rounded fitness regimen that will increase your strength, flexibility, endurance and overall physical health.
