Paul Kroll does not abide by any principles of the Choi Kwang Do Association: Humility, Integrity, Gentleness, Perseverance, Self Control & Unbreakable Spirit. He should have is Black Belt Revoked by the Choi Kwang Do Association. The man is full of greed and selfishness that makes promises over and over that never get fulfilled. The old management had their act together, and he dishonorably disposed of them like trash.

The owner is not organized at all and nothing ordered is ever on time. He does not even believe in practicing katas or even the basic techniques in class. The place used to be more professional and traditional before the other teachers quit. Now it doesn’t even feel like a real Martial Arts school.

An awesome school that we have grown to love and see as family. The instructors are dedicated and go above and beyond in helping every student here. Come down and see for yourself why they are so awesome!

I attended here from 2014-2016 and a lady and her son joined. Instructor Paul put decided make the lady a class helper, probably due to her being one the older students. She was a jerk, quite rude, and is lucky I didn't bop her one. If you don't enjoy being nagged around, don't go here.

We were very excite to come here but quickly learned the rules change a lot and they allowed the stronger students to bully the ones that struggle

My son struggled with bullying throughout middle and high school. Signing him up for classes was one of the best decisions I could make. I watched as he improved and matured into a confidant young man with the help and training of this school. The instructors are great and have taught him many things. Great classes and kind instructors.

The Aikido instructor is fantastic! Sensei Nathan explains the techniques in a way that is easy to understand. The instructors even go out of there way to make sure you are getting down and feeling comfortable with each Aikido technique taught. The atmosphere is very welcoming and I have fun each time I attend class. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in a practical self-defense!

You are not going to find a better place for you or your children to learn martial arts. The staff is amazing, no words can describe how wonderful they are with children.

My daughter had been bullied by some of the boys in her school on the playground and on the bus. At one point, I was getting a call from the principals office almost daily. I had no idea what I should do, and the thought of putting her in private school crossed my mind, but the cost of private school is just too expensive. To keep her safe, I would be willing. While talking to my friend at work, she suggested I enroll her in martial arts, and I thought it was an excellent idea. My daughter took to it right away and with her new sense of confidence, nobody ever messed with her again. It has been 3 years now, and she is so confident and strong. I am very grateful to Shelby Martial Arts Academy for everything they have given her. The focus improvement has also been a very welcome perk!

this school is great for people of all ages! you will always be moving and always be active anytime you are on the mat. this keeps kids entertain and also a great way to keep your child active and motivated. This school is one of the freaking awesome martial arts school in the the area!!!!!!!

They focus on each child and have lots of patience for those who have more difficulty. Our child's focus and coordination was greatly improved in only two month. Our child loves coming because of the instructors. They keep them interested and have lots of energy.

Shelby martial arts academy has a welcoming atmosphere, it is a great place for the whole family to train together. The instructors are fantastic and will go out of there way to help out any student who needs extra help in their training. At shelby martial arts, the instructors teach for the love of the martial arts and I have been training here for years. Over the years, I have grown and developed as a martial artist at Shelby Martial Arts Academy. The instructors are effective teachers and are willing to personalize instruction to help each student achieve his or her full potential. Students are not only taught how to defend themselves, but also how to apply the principles of humility, honesty, gentleness, perseverance, self-control, and unbreakable spirit to their daily lives. I have studied both Choi Kwang Do and Aikido at this location and have enjoyed studying both. I have found that the skills I have developed studying martial arts have helped me to develop habits and principles that have allowed me to succeed in my academics, work environment, interpersonal relationships, and student leadership positions. I strongly recommend Shelby Martial Arts Academy to anyone looking to study martial arts.

Mr. Bole and all of his associates are extremely effective, caring professionals who put their hearts and souls into guiding and nurturing their students. My twin boys have ADD/ADHD and attend both the martial arts and brain gym classes. They have made amazing progress in both classes and it is due solely to the expertise, attention and concern of all the instructors.
