I was out of shape and lacking confidence when I came to Seibukan Jujutsu of Washington Tenchikan Dojo. I hadn't practiced martial arts in 15 years but had a yearning to get back into it, but was apprehensive due to my physical state and lack of ability. Fortunately I found Tenchikan Dojo, overcame my doubt, and gave it a shot. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. The head instructor, Mike Sauders-Shihan, provided an excellent atmosphere for superb quality training. I found him very patient yet precise when relaying techniques, his instruction clear and easy to comprehend. The art of Seibukan Jujutsu is ideal for practitioners of any age or physical state because the art relies on technique, and not strength, to be effective. The study of Seibukan Jujutsu has however helped me physically get into shape and provided me with a greater self-confidence and state of mind. My only advise is give it a go, you won't regret it!

My son has taken Jujutsu at Seibukan jujutsu of Washington state for 4yrs. The instruction is top notch. Class time is well organized and teaches the love of discipline and value of self-defense, in an environment of mutual respect. The students study terminology, various techniques including knife, sword, and methods of attack and de-escalation. Older students work with younger students on techniques and building strength while also building friendships and comradery. Other opportunities of involvement are possible, for example: volunteering and warrior camp. This is a great Dojo for all ages.

I came to Tenchikan Dojo as an older student (61 at the time) and was a bit intimidated with the training at first. However, the dojo master Shihan Mike Sauders, 6th. degree Black Belt, was and still is very patient in guiding me through the course of studies but at the same time setting high standards.

This is not a large dojo but all of the students are friendly and the assistant instructors attentive and professional. There is always time for that little bit of extra attention.

The study of Seibukan jujutsu has done much to improve my mental focus and physical self confidence. I am living proof that even as an older student you can learn to move in ways that were once unimaginable.

Shihan Sauders also has an excellent program for younger students providing focus and discipline in an active and even fun environment.
