Second Segment Martial Arts was founded in 2010. In this year unique martial way was conceived. It was conceived in a traditional environment. This is interesting, because the very nature of Second Segment Martial Arts is born of outside-the-box thinking. Tradition has served as the foundation for this art because time and trial do a magnificent job of telling us what works and what doesn't.
The askew angle at which I viewed the martial arts gave way to my seeing connections and relationships between things that most others didn't. These connections inspired me to ask "what if" and "why not" questions. The answers to these questions created the atmosphere for some forward momentum, which, in turn, inspired more action on my part. The ideas seemed to grow on their own, and the desire to implement them grew along with them.
This lead us to where we are today. A forward-thinking, systematic, dynamic martial art that needs to be shared.
