The ultimate goal of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu is the perfection of character using the development of physical skills. One does not exist without the other. The system places great importance on the mental attitudes of the student and strives to develop such qualities as respect, loyalty, and humility. In order to perfect their arts. the student must perfect him or herself and train the mind and body to act as one. As a basis for further instruction of the arts, the student must always show his instructor and fellow classmates that he/she is worthy of the knowledge he/she holds. The physical and moral expectations of the Santa Barbara Jujitsu Kai and the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation are of the highest standards. All students are required to meet and practice these standards.
All students must complete coursework in the martial as well as healing arts.
