At first 5150 was just another activity for my kids but when I noticed their desire to become Jr Black belts I realized this school was special. At such a young age (5 and 6) my children had goals, plans to achieve those goals, and had developed a non-quitting spirit to attain their goals! The excitement they had was contagious and I had to try it for myself - truly something I will never regret.

Immediately upon stepping on the mat one can feel the support and encouragement from fellow students. Shihan O'Keffee, Sensei Shapiro, and Sensei Alvarez are top notch instructors that only know how to bring out the best in their students. Their knowledge and continued education in the martial arts is never ending and is displayed in every class they teach.

If you're looking for a dojo for yourself, your kids, and/or anyone there's no need to look further.....check out 5150 Martial Arts!!

TOP NOTCH KARATE SCHOOL

Training here is not just like just going to the gym or taking an exercise class. Every class is different which keeps me interested – and keeping my interest is key for me to stick with it. All of the instructors are excellent martial artists, teachers and they are incredibly motivating – striving to have us do our best each day. There have been times when I think I can’t do something but they teach us to give it our best effort, not to quit, and that’s when we see the results. The instructors' level of knowledge, experience, and teaching skill is top notch all around.

My son also started here about one year ago and I have seen amazing results in his physical and mental agility. He is stronger and has more endurance when he plays team sports (soccer, baseball). He also has more focus and a greater attention span in school.

5150 is a well rounded school in that the focus is not only on teaching martial arts but also great emphasis is placed on the importance of community outreach, helping others less fortunate, healthy eating habits, anti bullying prevention, good behavior, and personal best. I would highly recommend 5150 Martial Arts.

5150 Martial Arts is an excellent place to train. I joined earlier this year, and have been addicted ever since. The instructors are great, and are a definite inspiration. The students who I train with are just as motivating. Each class is filled with positive, high energy, and intense training.

This dojo offers a wide variety of martial arts, and I have also learned a great deal of self defense. Shihan O'Keeffe, Sensei Shapiro, and Sensei Alvarez are top of the line instructors. I know I have chosen the right place to earn my black belt.

It is an incredible, family oriented facility. They also offer great classes for children, helping to build confidence kids need in order to deal with school bullies and negative pressure.

If you are looking for an enjoyable place to work out and learn martial arts, 5150 is it. This dojo is different from the rest because it not only helps you train for a stronger, healthier body, but in return, you gain a martial arts family.

A friend invited me to try a class with her at 5150 and it didn't take long for me to decide I wanted to go as often as I could. I have lost weight, gotten stronger, and gotten much better cardio endurance since starting. I have also received great quality martial arts instruction and I am now a green belt planning to work toward my black belt. I love 5150 so much I brought 2 of my sons along to try it and it's been great for them, too. My 9-year old especially can't get enough of it. He often takes two classes in a row. Eventually I also got my husband to come along to a class. He has trouble making it to classes because of his long work hours, but he goes when he can and there are plenty of evening classes to make that a little easier. Now we are all involved at 5150 except my 2-year old son, though he seems to see it as a second home when I bring him along.

When my daughter joined Thomas Clifford they make you sign a 6 MONTH contract for a child. When it came time to renew my daughters "contract" i told them i was probably not going to renew because we were going to be moving and the class she was in was getting to big and she didnt like it anymore. Sensei Shapiro told me dont worry about it, if you decide she cant do it anymore no worries. What a lie that was! I now have a collection agency on me telling me i owe them $630! I told them what happened they said unless i have something in writing theres nothing they can do. I tried contacting her many times she never called me back and apparently im not the only one having issues with them and there contacts. Now i owe 6months of class my daughter didnt attend. If i would have known this i would have never signed the contract. So if you go to them get everything in writing!
