Integrity is an issue and safety. My child is under court order from family court in Boston to not be at that address. Stay away and find another karate service.

My son trained at Rising Storm Training Academy and was held back from his yellow belt for an entire year! The instructor Sensei Nathan often taught things that didn't seem to relate to karate, but I did not know better until a friend of mine offered to take my son to her son's training place in Winchester. Since then we have left the dojo and now train at Steve Nugent's in Winchester where our son is very excited to have received his yellow belt! This dojo preaches good morals with the children but actions speak louder than words. Save yourself the money and avoid at all costs!

My 4 years old daughter started the class right before this Summer starts, in the beginning we were worry if she was too young to follow the instructions. After the first class, our worry was gone. The instructor, Nathan, has magical technique to handle little kids. He knows well how to communicate with young children and his claases just so fun and useful. My little one enjoys every single class and she got her yellow belt last month. My 3 years old boy will definitely join with Sensei Nathan in the near future.

This place is a great all around martial arts school. Whether you want to compete in tournaments or just get in shape and learn self defense. There is good mix of fun and seriousness..They train stand up kenpo and ju-jitsu. And ground work like wrestling and submission wrestling. This place will challenge you no matter what your level.
An excellent place to train

Starting a few months ago, I have seen a huge improvment in my sons attitude, strength, and flexibilty. The instructors care about each child as an indvidual and encourage them to build character and knowledge. There is no other way to rate RSTA then 5 Stars!

As a long time student of Sensei Nathan and a parent of 2 children he has taught, I can honestly say that you will find no other like him! He is excellent with the kids, making the environment one that is fun and safe while giving them a solid foundation and well rounded martial arts experience. He teaches them in a way that they don't even realize they are learning so much.
As a student myself, I was impressed with Sensei Nathan's vast knowledge of the arts as well as his martial arts abilities. He is always willing to explain, demonstrate and pass on what he can to his students. He motivates me to put my heart into my training and to make the art my own.
He inspires his students to reach new heights, train hard and have a good time while doing it!

Monday and Wednesday morning Cardio Knockout classes are great! It is a great way to start the day. The adult Karate Class is fantastic. I had no interest in Martial Arts until I took a class with Sensei Nate. Its a Great confidence builder and a fantastic strength builder. I have also watched Sensei Nate teach the kids classes and the kids are so excited to come every day for class. This is a great school for adults and kids!

My 8 year old son loved his first 3 weeks of karate. My older son (age 10) had no interest in it at all Until we convinced him to come with us to last Friday's.Ninja Pizza Night. He had a blast and joined his younger brother the very next day for his first class. Sensei Nathan really does a great job teaching the kids.He keeps their attention by making karate so much fun.

I look forward to the martial art classes during the week. Every day is a new learning experience with Sensei Nathan. The atmosphere at the academy is positive and motivating, and it also helps that the location is very convenient.
My eldest son has been studying at Rising Storm for almost five years now. In that time, he has evolved from a timid and clumsy toddler to a confident and capable young leader, and I attribute that largely in part to his martial arts education. Through the interest and dedication that my son has applied, while continuing to be engaged and challenged in his training, he is now one step away from achieving his black belt. So, I felt it was a good time to reflect upon and share our positive experiences at the school. Karate is a fun activity for your kids to try, but for them to fully experience its benefits, like any artistic discipline or sport, it can also be a pretty significant long-term commitment. This is why choosing the right dojo for your family is a relatively important decision. Sensei Nathan, the director and primary instructor of Rising Storm, is a truly gifted teacher––especially when it comes to working with children. He speaks to the class articulately and with authenticity, and is able to command the attention and respect of even a room full of very young students without ever needing to raise his voice. It is not only self-defense and physical agility that my child has learned. Sensei teaches the history of martial arts, some Japanese language and culture, and most importantly instills the very values that I myself most wish to impress upon my children: the importance of effort and hard work, respect, integrity and compassion. While teaching excellence in martial arts, the point of view conveyed in the lessons is often centered on how to best avoid using them in favor of peaceable conflict resolution. Sensei Nathan is very dedicated and committed to his students and works very hard to ensure that every child’s individual needs are being met. We have been very satisfied with the selection of Rising Storm as our dojo and the quality of instruction, and would highly recommend it to others.
