We have had our son at Rising Sun for just about 3 years. Prior to this Dojo he had been somewhere
else locally for 3 years and was kicked out. Our son has ADHD and we enrolled him for
help with discipline and respect and focus. Needless to say he didn't get this help prior
to Rising Sun. Other Dojo's teach to the belt test but Master Lengyel teaches Karate, self defense, respect, obedience, confidence, and general life skills to all ages regardless of disability or
special needs. No one is left out and all the kids respect Master Lengyel and each other. It has been a wonderful and positive experience. Thanks to Master Lengyel our son has competed in several tournaments
and has placed in Kata, Grappeling, Sparring, and Padded Weapons and has done so with flying colors and has many more to compete in this year. We have now enrolled our second son and when our third son is old enough we will enrol him. We definitely recommend Rising Son Academy to anyone who is interested in learning Martial Arts!

Of all the students that came and went, almost all of them came in with functional issues and or disciplinary problems. Only a few went away without much aide mainly due to the parents. Having been there for nearly 9 years, I can testify that the instructor of this school both cares of his students martial art skills and every day life skills. For example, child behaves badly at school, child is disciplined according to the instruction of the parent. Another example would be his he arranges once in a while get togethers and meet and greets. He makes the students, and parents alike feel like family. Both accepting, caring, and passionate about his school and students. This most exquisite instructor has guided and assisted two Black Belts in 7 years. He does not test for Black belt until 18, or age of maturity and proper disciple. He will not pass you if you aren't ready, but he will not fail you for trying your best. I have been there recently and can say that the Dojo is improving in both cosmetics and function. Speaking of function, when I was able to do class, we once in a while did public functions like area clean up, or bake sales or even volunteer at any local communities to help out and show support. Last but not least, tournaments. I enjoyed those almost as much as I did sparring days. Almost every tournament this school has went to, everyone has come home with at least a second place or better in sparring, kata (forms) or board breaking. All in all, this small close nit school gets out a lot and does many a things including but not limited to; community service, bake sales, get togethers, tournaments, skits to show what they do, group outings to just relax, and mostly family structure and support. My bottom line, I joined thinking I wouldn't like it. Don't judge a book by its cover. Because seeing is not always believing. You have to experience and be a part of this school to enjoy all its splendour.

My son was a student of this dojo for five years we had to move away for work would recommend this to anybody who has kids or adults that have problems concentrating and focusing on every day life skills. The instructor is really knowledgeable and is really great with kids and not big on money but big on the instruction. It's also a private dojo so he works great with group and one on one instruction made my kid a national and state champion today we miss going wish they were closer to us

Highly recommend it for any age. .. The Instructor made my boys Champions and Natural leaders. . Thanks Master Lengyel. .
