Riki Judo Dojo is truly a Japanese dojo. The dojo is not about medals and trophies, but about knowledge, skills and abilities. While Riki sensei competed internationally for more than 20 years, he is a very technical teacher and a real historian as he teaches the Jujitsu origins of the Judo techniques. The membership is made up of all ages and everyone is friendly and helpful. The classes are fun, informative and challenging - terrific workouts. I'm very please to be a member of Riki Dojo.

This is one of the few places that teaches true authentic Japanese Judo and Jujutsu as a Martial Art (not as a sport) and we are lucky to have Riki Sensei, who is only a handful of people to received a red and white belt and a menkyo certification to teach judo from Japan. On top of this, his school mats are on a "floating" floor that allow you to learn how to be thrown without injury. Plus, Riki Sensi's prices are like half of other judo places and he (not one of his student) teaches class twice as often as others school do.

Quality over Quantity. Sensei Riki is great and helps you develop your technique. Although I was expecting something more intense I'm glad I found Riki Dojo. I have realized how important technique is and I'm learning skill rather than muscle. Both are important but had I gone somewhere else I would have not learned and just muscled my way through techniques. Come train with us. We are always accepting of new training partners.

If you are looking for a top notch school with top notch instructors look no further. I have gone to a few different schools and studied Jujitsu under several instructors and Riki is the best without a doubt. He is humble, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. His associate instructors are just as good so when he is not teaching (which is a rare occasion) your still getting great instruction. I would and have recommended this school to every one I know but don't take my word for it stop by jump in on a lesson you will be glad you did.

My 8 year old has been attending Riki Dojo for just over a month now and he LOVES it!!!! The instructors are great. Sensei emphasizes fundementals, teamwork, and discipline. He is great with children. Riki's prices are reasonable and you will not find a better deal in the East Valley!! I would recommend Riki Dojo to anyone looking for a Dojo for their child or teen.

Riki sensei is both an excellent judo practicioner and an outstanding teacher. His experience and dedication to martial arts shine through when he teaches. Sensei can go from instructing young children to highly skilled adults and law enforcement officers, tailoring the lessons to each individual.

The mats are great and it is a positive learning environment. Sensei makes each student feel welcome and all of the students are respectful to one another.

The prices are also very affordable. I urge anyone interested to come try it out and also try some of the other dojos nearby. Choose what is best for you... but I have a feeling you'll end up at Riki Dojo USA.

At Riki Dojo USA Judo is taught as a real combat sport with lots of technique drills. There's a lot of throwing and grappling practice. The mats are terrific and you don't really feel the impact because they are raised off the floor by these foam blocks. Riki sensei, the teacher, is really old school Japanese with a lot of competition and teaching experience. He really get us going. Great place!
