I was looking for a school where I could learn self-defense. I was assured over and over again when I initially interviewed that Richard Chun's karate school taught "the most effective" self-defense. I attended for 8 and 1/2 months (four classes to five classes each week). A waste of time for my purpose. Maybe the school is good for people who like the "art". . . but if you want to learn self-defense it offers nothing. Eight and 1/2 months of 4 to 5 weekly classes and nothing I learned advanced me even slightly toward being able to defend myself.
