I've been training for a long time and I can't imagine my life without it. This is all thanks to the wonderful instruction by our Sensei. I challenge you to find a teacher who is more engaging and generally cares as much about his student's ability as Roger.

Just want to say thank you to the Rhode Island Ninjutsu Center, as you all have been not only great instructors for my son Joshua Farley, but you have been a mentor and a friend as well to him. He greatly enjoys attending the classes there. Even though I have never met you's face to face, I feel sometimes as if I know you, as he speaks of you's often and so highly. We started Joshua out very, very young into martial arts and I honestly believe that it (along with God) has shaped him into the fine young man that he is today, and I also believe you can never stop learning, so I am glad that Joshua still persues Martial Arts to this day. Keep doing what you are doing, as you are doing such a fine job. And if a day of doubt should ever come, remember there are many that you have helped, but if it be just one, be it well worth it. God bless you, Cherokee

I have been a martial arts enthusiast since I was 4. I have trained in Judo, Shaolin Do, and quite a bit of MMA in the past. However, those martial arts were not very practical in many ways, differing between each one.
From the first month training at RI Ninjutsu Center, I realized that I was not where I thought I was in my training and that I had a lot to learn. In that first month, I also received effective methods of self defense that were not shrouded in obscure movements as to keep it a secret from the new students. Everything was straight forward and practical.
In the media, you see Brazilian Jujutsu as a staple, because of MMA cage matches. But what happens when you take a guy to the ground after being attacked in the street? You take him to the ground and then his buddy comes up and kicks you in the back of the head? You took the fight to the ground and trapped yourself there. Now you are vulnerable. One thing that I learned from Shidoshi and Justin, is that if I am in a fight and the fight goes to the ground, I messed up somewhere or the fight would have never went to the ground. Brazilian Jujutsu may be great for cage matches, but what about in the real world?
Furthermore, will people really be able to do Brazilian Jujutsu when they are older? Like, 80 years old....? I highly doubt it. So, if you are looking for a martial art for life, Ninjutsu is a great martial art. It focuses on using as little effort as possible to achieve the desired result (taking out your opponent).
At Rhode Island Ninjutsu Center, we are also a community. We know each other, most of us are all friends on Facebook, and we all foster that atmosphere at the dojo.
Take a Tuesday or Thursday evening to have Shidoshi or Justin give you a free introduction class! You won't regret it!

I met Roger in the early 90's and trained with him until 1999. He is incredibly talented and focused on training his students real world techniques that can immediately impact their lives. He has the ability to teach and translate the subtleties and nuances of the ancient martial art so anyone can understand and grasp the concepts taught in the dojo. The lessons he taught me go beyond just kicking and punching. They taught me positive life lessons that I continue to rely on in making choices through all aspects of my life more than 20 years after our first meeting. I highly recommend Roger and RI Ninjutsu. He trains with some amazing people, including the Grandmaster of the martial art, Masaaki Hatsumi, in Japan. Roger is an outstanding person and instructor.
