I started my martial arts training when I was 5, I had just entered kindergarten. I remember Sensi from day one explaining the rules, and teaching me the fundamentals of blocking. You normally go to one or two classes in the week with entire class, and then you have a one on one class with Sensi where he evaluates your training (he keeps notes so he always remembers where you’re at). Sensi makes it easy to learn weapons and technique by showing you first at your private, then you practice at home and the demonstrate it when you join the group class. We did allot of full contact fighting at our group class, Sensi made sure we were well protected always! My dad would enter me in local tournaments as a white belt all the way thru black, in both forms and weapons. Even as a white belt, people where always amazed how much cleaner and quicker my forms and weapons where compared to other opponents, I won allot of trophy’s. After seven and half years I received my black belt and another year I had my first degree. I hadn't practiced or picked up a weapon since I left martial arts over 4 years ago, until recently I picked up my old nunchakus and was surprised at the speed I can still manage two of them. I am an sophomore and honor student at South Hills High School, I play on the Varsity Soccer team as the starting goalie which I have been since freshmen year. I can say I owe my dedication to studying and sports, to the discipline I got studying Martial Arts with Ray Armijo!
