Extraordinary Instruction from a Grandmaster with the Heart of a Teacher

Of all the places, Grand Junction, CO.
In 2014, my wife and I stumbled upon the incredible caliber of martial arts instruction that we continue to take from Sifu Shover at Professional Self Defense Institute. He has many decades of learning and teaching self-defense to his credit, including some incredible accomplishments within the field. However, you won't even begin to scratch the surface of his amazing achievements in martial arts/self-defense, until you are a student for an extended period of time. The former is because he is a humble, servant leader with the heart of a teacher.
Sifu Shover teaches martial arts in a traditional way that is focused on excellence, constant improvement, and advanced understanding of the discipline in which a student is training.
He is fair but firm and doesn't tolerate nonsense or drama. You very much get what you put in at PSDI. If you are a hard worker, consistent in your training, and take it seriously, you will be pleased with your outcomes and your experience at PSDI.
His prices are more than fair and he teaches several styles.
One of the many things that stand out about his instruction and the school, is that there is a whole group of good, dedicated students who have been taking in his instruction for years. These talented martial artists who've been studying with Sifu Shover are kind, respectful, welcoming, and patient with newcomers, and they encourage and support everybody's wins along the way. The former makes dedicated students want to continue because everyone is committed to being the best version of themselves, which raises the average for all.
My wife and I take Kung Fu San Soo with him and we thoroughly enjoy it.
After taking many martial arts in multiple states throughout the last 35 years, Sifu Shover and Professional Self Defense Institute stand apart for the learning environment, the level of instruction, the opportunity to become better, and the camaraderie.
