My husband and son joined a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed being able to do this together. Professor Pittman is very knowledgeable and explains the movements in an easy and understandable way.

My family of four have been attending Pittman Academy for approximately 6 months. Professor Pittman and his staff provide professional and knowledgeable instruction. Anything worth doing requires hard work and BJJ is no different. Key values we are constantly reminded of at Pittman Academy are “Hard Work, Commitment, and Tenacity. ” I believe all three of these are necessary to be a successful BJJ practitioner. In short you have to play the long game. I trust the Pittman Academy to teach my family and I for years to come.

Enrolled my boys in the Pittman Academy for Martial Arts. They are enjoying the training and having a great time. They can't wait to go each day. Mr. Pittman has been very encouraging to them and they seem to be learning a lot. They go several times per week and always come away with exciting things to tell me about what they've learned. They are having fun and have met some very nice students that have helped them with the techniques as well. It's a great atmosphere and I appreciate the high level of respect and honor that is shown by the staff and being taught to the students by all the leaders.

Mr. Pittman and his team are terrific. My daughters and I started training there a couple of months ago and it is a great atmosphere for kids, families, AND adults. My girls are 4, 12, and 14 and we all love it. Mr. Pittman is very technical teacher and mixes in high intensity fight simulations for teens and adults which creates an amazing cardio and endurance obstacle to make both body and mind stronger. One of my favorite things about Pittman's is he focuses on both Jiu Jitsu vs Jiu Jitsu training well as real world self defense training. While his belting system is unorthodox it works wonders to keep everyone motivated to train and eager to learn. If you are initially turned off by the system give him a chance to change your mind. His techniques produce results and you will not find a better place to train in the state and maybe the country.

My son has benefited the most from having a goal!

I am very happy about what my boy has received. My son does not do well in school. And because of that has a sense of shame. However, because of the training and guidance he has received at pittman's.... He now has some goals, and those goals have been the catalyst to enhance the necessary changes. For example, he now feels great about himself, and that has made him more co-operative at school and at home- thank you Mr. and Mrs . Pittman and staff for helping my son have the confidence to set his sights and have a goal!

If you plan to join Pittman's, be aware of what your contract actually says. You can get out of it if you have a disability, (for $50) but only within 3 days. If you have had surgery and been released by your doctor, yet find that you are unable to continue the class, you will not be released from your contract unless you pay $250.00, regardless of whether the doctor writes a letter informing the academy of your inability to participate. If you do not pay the balance of your contract or the $250 cancellation fee, they will file on you in Small Claims Court. The judge told me they have the right to do this and the student will also have to pay court fees of approximately $100.

My daughter was very happy with her lessons and instructor. I simply do not believe their contracts are in anyone's best interest but their own. If she had received a material item, I could understand the $250, but she is paying for a service she will not receive. I hope this post makes young people more aware of consequences before they sign their name to any legal document. It was an expensive lesson learned for her.
