Suitable for me (if I lived in the area) and my grandson.

It seems great for me if I lived in the area, as well as for my grandson Curtis "Bo" Burton, Jr., who is a student at Mr. Patron Sensei's dojo.

I like the fact that the head instructor/s have "Full Contact" experience. My first black belt was through the International Karate Kickboxing Association out of Buenos Aires, Argentina (Senior Grandmaster Jorge Doglioli Sensei and my trainer/instructor Julio Rondán Sensei.

My 2nd was in Ed Parker's American Kenpo under Sifú Ricardo "Rick" Reyna of El Paso, Tx. I'm 3rd generation from Senior GM Parker, who promoted David Ceniceros to black belt. Mr. Ceniceros Sensei promoted Master Reyna and he promoted me.

For the last 25 years I've been working with Hónshi (GM) John Colmenero of Tucson, AZ. John was an Army Ranger and a Tracy Kenpo black belt and he switched during the 70's - 80's to Tatsuo Shikubaku's Isshinryu Karate, a "traditional" Okinawan Karate discipline.

Both Master (Renshi) Reyna and Honshi Colmenero were amateur boxers and professional kickboxers as well as traditional martial artists, as was Mr. Rondán Sensei in Argentina, who besides FC is a black belt in Shotokan Karate.

All of my instructors, starting with my Dad, a boxer and WWII Navy Commando and combat vet assigned to the PT Boats.

So I'm glad my grandson is getting similar instruction from someone who is both a fighter and a traditional martial artist! It's exactly what I told my daughter to look for.

Thank you, Renshi Chuck Benson Jr Sensei
