I began taking martial arts at the age of 14 at Faust’s USA Karate. Almost 15 years later I can honestly say that my life has been completely changed in a positive direction because of the instructors and fellow students here. Not only did training at USA Karate give me the opportunity to become more fit and learn physical skills to defend myself, but it has also given me the gift of being able to learn side-by-side with my brother and my sister and bring us closer together. It has helped me to grow from a shy teen who had few friends and turned red whenever I had to speak in front of people into a confident person who thoroughly enjoys leading groups of 50+ people. Last, but definitely not least, Faust’s USA Karate, the instructors, and the students, have provided me with a consistent, positive place that has been there for me through thick and thin. Taking class has never failed to put me in a better mood after class than I was when I walked in!

Sensei Kathy Faust has built an exceptional dojo. All of the instructors are skilled and professional. They are committed to helping students of all ages and ability be the best that they can be. The curriculum is structured, comprehensive, and always interesting. The martial arts techniques are challenging, practical, and safe. And all of this happens in a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere. Aside from the physical benefits, the curriculum incorporates subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) messaging about the importance of respect, integrity, honesty, self-control, and perseverance. Every student from white belt to black belt, regardless of age, understands that internalizing these traits and incorporating them into their lives is a crucial component of becoming a black belt. The dojo is also community focused – particularly when it comes to the safety of children. Just one example is the dojo’s support of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Each year a group from the dojo participates in the Center’s 100-mile benefit bike ride (I am one of them. ) In the past seven years we have raised over $80, 000 for NCMEC. My son is 12. We have been training together for seven years. Our journey to becoming a black belt is an experience we will have for a lifetime. It is an experience that is helping to shape the way we live our lives inside and outside the dojo – at school, at work and at home. We are fortunate to have a school of this caliber in our community and I am thrilled to be a part of it.

Faust's USA Karate - Sensei Kathy Faust, herself an accomplished and world class Martial Artist, and her staff teach more to the children and adults who participate in the Faust's USA Karate program than punching and kicking. There is a commitment to success in life that is a hallmark of Kathy Faust and the Faust's USA Karate family. Believing in yourself, being "clean teens" and focusing on achievement in the dojo, in the family home and in school/ work ARE the extra mile. This is a dojo that has been part of the local community for over 25 years, in the schools, cleaning up roadways, doing community service - engaging in meaningful community support. The fact that you get to hit stuff and wear cool gear is the icing on the cake. We highly recommend this program.

With two children training for four years, I can confidently say this is the best time and money we have ever spent on our kids. The leadership team at Faust USA Karate is motivating, inspiring and FUN! It has been a far richer experience than I could have ever anticipated. My kids are in better physical shape since training and they are learning life skills they will have forever. They are more confident in themselves everyday and they are finding their own leadership skills through their training. They intend to get their black belts and to even be teachers someday because of the fantastic role models they are surrounded by every day at Faust's USA Karate.

When you choose a Martial Arts program you become extremely selective. Faust's USA Karate Dojo has provided a sequenced curriculum with high level instructors. This is my 24th year at this dojo receiving my 5th degree Black Belt. I have two sons who achieved their Black Belts and have competed in state and national competitions. This dojo continues to refine curriculum and provides instructor leadership. High level Martial Artists from all over the country are bought into the dojo to enhance our training. The positive atmosphere and the camaraderie of students this school draws is why I continue to devote myself to this organization. The quality and quantity of Black Belts that continue on amazes me. Every promotion is strongly attended by at least 18-20 active training Black Belts. Community Service Activities are a huge part of our training. As an educator myself I give back by providing Karate Clubs at Elementary Schools with some of our best instructors. My longevity and commitment to Faust's USA Karate shows how high I value training here.

I’ve been training under Sensei Kathy Faust at Faust’s USA Karate in Fairport, NY for almost 20 years and have found the training, and her coaching, to be second to none. There is no shortage of martial arts schools to choose from in the area, and in my opinion, making the correct choice is the difference between learning life changing skills, with world class athletes, to simply “purchasing” a black belt thru one of the many “black belt factories”. Sensei Faust has a very unique ability to understand her students and their abilities and to help them achieve their maximum potential. If you get a black belt from Sensei Faust, you’ve earned it, and know what it feels like to push yourself to your limit and beyond. I received my 4th degree black belt from Sensei Faust, my 27 year old son received his 1st degree black belt, and my 4 year old grandson has just embarked on his martial arts journey. I very highly recommend Sensei Faust and Faust’s USA Karate for your martial arts and self defense training.

I have trained at this school since 2005 when i was in 3rd grade. since I've started training I have broken down many physical, mental and social barriers i never thought were possible. After just a few months of training my parents could see what a difference it made. I was not as shy and had more self confidence, on top of that i was getting physically in shape. Fast forward almost 9 years and i have gotten my JR and adult black belt through them. Sensei Jason does an awesome job at teaching for every age group and he always looking for new ways to better himself and others. Mr. Cooper teaches the basic classes to make them interesting and involved for everyone. He also visits with parents regularly and genuinely cares about each and every student. Kathy Faust runs the dojo with the goal of creating the best learning and friendly atmosphere possible. She brings in world class athletes and coaches into the dojo so that everyone can better themselves. The team has received numerous awards and recognition. I am glad to call this dojo my homr away from home. It is my goal to have my children train here.

The most Professional school for you & your family. Numerous instructors have received National Recognition for teaching martial arts. The school "walks their talk". The Instructors are Professional, Disciplined, run structured fun classes & Focus on life's success skills. The program teaches children to control their minds & their bodies. Your child will learn to set & achieve goals in a safe fun environment. You will surely miss out if you don't visit this school before starting your martial arts journey.

The classes are huge, there is no one on one attention. They make up rules on the fly, and are disrespectful, thus they don't practice what they preach. It makes you feel as though they are in it for the money and they are definitely not The Best School in Rochester. They are really good at marketing not teaching Karate. Many parents complain but have no way out because they make you sign up for 3 years, so parents have a choice of using up time or quit and still pay for their 3 year contract. These are unfair business practices which leave customers with no choice but to attend the classes or loose money. The contract that they make you sigh is not legal, and they don't give you a copy of it. Steer clear of Faust USA Karate, there are better high quality alternatives.
