I have checked out four other dojos and teachers in southern Vermont over the past 6 years and always come back feeling like this place is home to me. Because martial arts to me is a spiritual path that has helped me through very low points in my life. What I like best about this dojo is the depth of understanding the teacher has of the Uechi-Ryu style and the amount of attention he pays to each student. I like the intensity of the classes and also how the teacher does not hurry anything. "the slow way is the fast way". I am now over an hour away and still take any chance I can to go there. I have ridden my motorcycle and scooter 80 miles round trip several times through autumn rains just to go to classes. Where ever I live and what ever my means, coming to class at the Okinowan Karate Dojo in Bennington, Vt will always be a motivating force in my life.
