This school teaches more martial arts weapons than any school that I know of. The Okinawa Budo Kai teaches Kobudo (several different systems), Iaido, European fencing and some students are skilled in Escrima. What I like very much about this school is that they do not just teach you kata like most schools do, but they focus alot on the actual partical fighting techniqes and the bunkai of kata (application within kata).
The student base is very strong and much of the training focuses on generating power and body dynamics. The techniques of this dojo are very strong and many weapons have been damaged during class due to the power generated from each technique. The student base and instruction is very strong and everyone contributes to the learning and understanding of techniques.
I highly recommend this dojo to anyone who wishes to learn Karate, Kobudo, Iaido or European fencing.

My son has been training at this dojo since he was 12 hrs old and is now 18 hrs old. The owner and the other black belts are very committed to the Okinawian style of karate and teaching the culture of Okinawa. No matter the age, young or old, all are made to feel welcome. Give it a try...I'm glad this dojo has been a part of my son's life.
Isshin Ryu Karate at its best. Very strong Kobudo.
