North Georgia Hayastan MMA Academy teaches a freestyle system of fighting and mixed martial arts that are based on the combative arts such as Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Sambo, Wrestling, Catch Wrestling, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Kali, and Kung Fu concepts. The Academy is founded on concepts that are used for self defense and competition. North Georgia Hayastan has established a young and determined competition team of all ages, with several Champions from submission grappling tournaments, boxing tournaments and MMA (cage fighting) promotions. We also have a talented group of individual entering their MMA career. North Georgia Hayastan also makes it a point to establish self defense as a priority as well. Our focus is to help anyone, seeking to learn martial arts, achieve their goal, whether it is to reduce stress with exercise, learning real self defense for themselves or their family or wanting to compete for recreation or to begin a career.
North Georgia Hayastan MMA Academy is lead by Scott White as Head MMA instructor. North Georgia Hayastan MMA Academy teaches under the Hayastan Freestyle fighting system, founded by Gene LeBell and Gokor Chyvichyan, as well as the American Federation of Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu. Scott has been involved in Martial Arts since the 1990’s teaching and being involved for over 12 years teaching in Tennessee and Georgia. Scott began his training in Aikido, then adopted Kung Fu, Kali, Kickboxing, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, and in 2003 began Training under Gokor Chivichyan. At this time Scott currently holds the rank of 4th Degree Black Belt in American Freestyle Jiu-Jitsu, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Kung Fu, and Level 6 Purple Belt in the Hayastan Fighting System with Gokor Chivichyan and Gene LeBell’s Hayastan Academy. Scott is a certified licensed instructor for the American Federation of Jiu Jitsu and also certified licensed instructor directly under Gokor Chivichyan with Hayastan Academy. Scott has had the privilege of training with some of the greatest instructors and fighters of the past and present, including: Gokor Chivichyan, Gene LeBell, Royce Gracie, Ryron Gracie, Karo Parisyan, Manny Gamburyean and several others.
The North Georgia Hayastan MMA Academy started in 2008 and was fully established at its current location in December 2010 and is located at 805 S. Hamilton St. Dalton, GA. North Georgia Hayastan MMA Academy is a 2,000 plus square foot facility that features professional fitness and training equipment, including changing rooms, heavy bags, speed bags, free weights and a pro shop. We are pleased to provide professional training 5 days per week. Our current schedule is Mon-Thurs 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. and open mat on Saturday or Sunday as announced weekly. We provide strength and conditioning classes and kid’s classes that complement our MMA classes and adult programs.
We are pleased to be in the local Dalton community being able to serve and look forward to helping anyone, men, women, children and families increase their overall self confidence, self esteem, and fitness as well as meet anyone’s competition goals.
